I think the progress through this class is going good. For one thing I am a better at writing than when I first started this class. I learned different forms of writing and how to take those ideas into a paper. The one thing I need to work on is organizing my paper. It seems like when I am writing a paper some of the paragraphs do not fit in with the main idea.
I still think peer reviewing is the best way to try and fix all of the errors. Also it gives opinions from other people. It helps with their opinions because it gives ideas on what you can add to your paper.
I thought I did pretty good on my observation paper. The only thing that I could have worked on better was the conclusion. I did not explain the purpose which could confuse the audience. I tried to be as detailed as possible and trying to use the 5 senses.
I am certain that my observation paper will be in the portfolio. Hopefully when I revise my 3 papers they will be good enough to go into the portfolio. I might have to go back a read all the papers I have done and see which ones I can work with. I definitely have to rearrange some of the ideas of my paper to make it all fit together.

Reader's Journal 2
After reading these chapters I have learned the demands of writing in college, writing effectively, and how to reflect what I wrote. To start off chapter 5 begins to talk about the demands for college and what writers are expected to be able to do. It shows the different aims in a good writer. This chapter really just shows what is going to expected while at college.
The next chapter goes into more detail about understanding a rhetorical situation. Its aims are based on Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. These are the three elements that are necessary for any form of communcation. This chapter explains each of these elements and how to use them effectively. I see some examples which are effective for those who do not really understand the whole idea of ethos, pathos, and logos. Sometimes it can be challenging to write a paper based off this although it is the only way to write effectively.
The last chapter is about reflecting. There are many components and keys to reflections that are needed to write an effective reflection paper. I like how this chapter shows an effective reflection paper by Sue Kunitomi Embrey and has side notes off to the side to explain some of her components. In all I have learned bits and pieces in each chapter. I never knew a reflection paper could have so much to it than I thought possible.

reader's journal 3
Chapter 8 begins by explaining make observations and by using what you observe to write a full detailed essay. It takes you step by step begining with indentifying your subject. I though the step by step process was very useful considering I have never written an observation paper in my life. I made observations throughout my life but did not know how put my observations into words that would describe them.
In this chapter it shows examples of what an effective observation looks like. Along with the examples has sides notes of some of the sentences to show what the author is trying to get at. I thought this was really useful because it shows the way the author describes a certain scenery but means something different. By using these examples I can come up with my own way to describe some of the observations made.
