Reading Journal #1

The information in chapter one "Making Discoveries" had to do with how to start with writing. What is interesting in this book is it has lists and step-by-step ways to starting a paper. This really is probably the hardest part about writing. To get started in writing about a topic. I think by the step-by-step method really helps display useful information. Some of the examples really help understand what we are suppose to be doing in our writing. I think using examples is one of the helpful tools to writing.

With each new chapter comes with different steps. I liked how the book didn't just throw a bunch of information at you and how easy it was to understand. The information to writing a thesis was displayed well. Starting a thesis statement can always be difficult because it is an overall statement of what you are going to write about.

So far all the things i've read were pretty helpful. Although there were things that I already knew there were some things I didn't know about. With new information helps me become a better reader/writer.
